USJN is one of the longest running organizations in girls basketball that runs tournaments across the country starting back in the late 1980s. 1986-1987 the Girls' National Championships were held in Greensboro, NC. In 1988 the Girls' Championships were moved to Washington DC and it has grown in to one of the premier Nike events in the country.
The U.S. Junior Nationals is a national-level basketball championship tournaments held in various sites across the country. The USJN does not require teams or players to register or play according to age. The USJN has grade (class) divisions in which teams participate. The larger tournaments follow the concept of having 32 to 160 teams participate in pools of six, playing five games in four days, with tournament play to follow. Smaller tournaments follow the format of having pools of four, playing three pool games on the first day, and tournament play on the second/final day. The cost for the tournament covers all fees, team registration, etc. Our regional May/June Challenges are two day events with pools of four, and playing guarantee four games in two days with tournament play.
In 2007 the USJN Tournaments expanded to include more younger age divisions. The younger tournaments will use grade/graduation requirements not age requirements.

Nike became the official shoe/gear sponsor for all U.S. Junior National
Girls Basketball Tournaments in 1998. The multi-year deal gives Nike exclusive access
to all USJNs events.
We are proud to a part of Nike's commitment to the grass
roots basketball.
We will be working closely with Nike to develop the relationship between the
